Brooklyn dates live or die on one thing: privacy. There are hundreds of good places to eat, and only a few where you can talk properly.
Hotel lounges are worth it
A hotel lounge costs more than a cafe and is worth every dollar on a first date. Tall armchairs, wide spacing, and nobody you know.
Waterfront walks
The boardwalk and the waterfront paths are free, long, and easy to make shorter or longer depending on how it is going.
Activity dates
Bowling, arcades and games work beautifully for the middle dates. They take the pressure off eye contact and give you something to laugh about.
Timing
Go early. Every good quiet place in Brooklyn becomes loud after 8pm, so a 6:30 table is a completely different experience from a 9pm one.
See the Brooklyn date spots directory for hours, parking and which places stay quiet.
